Injury Screening and Instrumental Ergonomic Assessment
An injury screening is an essential tool for any serious musician and consists of two phases. Phase I consists of a one-hour evaluation during which a health and playing history will be taken, an initial postural and ergonomic assessment will be conducted, and any playing-related concerns that you have will be addressed. Phase II is a one-hour follow-up session at which time assessment findings will be reviewed with you and you will be provided with a personalized exercise program and/or suggestions for postural and instrumental adaptations as appropriate to enhance ease of playing and reduce risk of playing-related injury. Injury screenings can be conducted face-to-face in the Washington, DC area or via web-based platform for musicians in other locales.

Masterclasses, Seminars & Consultations
We believe that music educators play an integral role in establishing healthy playing habits with students so they can partake in a long, enjoyable, and illustrious playing career. Resonance Wellness is pleased to offer a variety of consultative services for music educators:
-Let us conduct a masterclass for your studio or band/orchestral program. We will tailor the masterclass to the needs and interests of you and your students. Popular topics include: how to use a dynamic warm-up to enhance playing and reduce injury, how to use biofeedback and mental imagery to reduce performance anxiety, injury prevention for musicians, and improving core control to optimize diaphragmatic breathing.
-Let us conduct a seminar for you and your fellow music educators to share the latest and greatest research regarding injury management and prevention for musicians--and how to translate this to your classroom environment.
-Let us consult with you to promote musician health within your music program. We can work with you to optimize the physical classroom environment and classroom culture to maximize your students' musical health. We can address hearing loss prevention strategies, injury management and prevention strategies, and much more.
We are happy to travel to provide these services to you in person (as we believe teaching is best done in person), though we can collaborate via web platform, as well.
